BJP needs its own ideology, follow its own swadharma

When the BJP says it was forced to vote for the land and food bills and then goes on to stress that the bills in themselves are inadequate, just what signal is it sending down the line to its cadre or supporters? This is something its leaders need to rethink. BJP has reached a pathetic point in competitive politics. Like the No 2 player in any business – from power equipment and financial services to telecom and media – in trying to get to the No 1 slot, the BJP keeps copying and aping the leader, criticising it often. But when it comes to crucial bills, it follows the Congress’s lead and votes for them. If there is a political ideology the BJP has, it seems to be: me-too. And if the BJP’s policies are going to be a repackaging of the Congress’s errors, why should voters opt for change?
